#alikevwed 7 December 2013

So the wedding finally happened!

The job: to set up decorations chosen by the bride and to host guests and the celebration drinks upon arrival.

Alicia and Kevin were on a very tight budget.  They also just wanted a few close friends and family in a ceremony and afternoon tea in their back yard.

But of course like many cultures, the parents love to do a little bit more for their children. So began preparations for a dinner reception after their vintage back yard ceremony and afternoon tea.

Their theme was very simple and vintage, their colours pink, purple and yellow.  I must say the photos I will put on, thanks to my iPhone, don't do the decorations justice, but it was lovely.

Setting up in the heat of the day was no fun, but with my main man and hubby helping to set the marquee up and all the decorations it made it a whole lot easier.

A dozen family and friends had flown in from Singapore the night before and were calming helping set up the afternoon tea. It was so nice to see the excitement on their faces with the family and closest friends from OS making such a great effort to be here.

Guests began to come and a gorgeous strings duet, just set the perfect vintage theme, the drinks were flowing and the music playing and everyone was in a celebration mood.

The ceremony kicked off and it all was just perfect, apart from the forceful wind deciding to take the bridal arch and fly away... Was awesome!!

I couldn't say no to the bride and so I helped coordinate their ceremony and family and friends photos, along with a group shot.

Than you Alicia and Kevin for the opportunity to be a part of your special day..

Bring on the summer wedding

Recently I received confirmation on planning my first December wedding...

Alicia my very petite Bride to be, called me in to discss transforming her backyard from barren land, to a vintage piece of beauty...

I'm loving her colour scheme, white, pinks and yellows... Such fresh and vibrant colours.

With only one month to prepare, Alicia has given me the basic feel and theme of what she is wanting... Stay turned to see how this evolves.  Below are some pics of the yard and the gorgeous hand made (by me) garland to draper down the isle...

Daughter of the Groom

Well we all know I just love planning weddings...

And it was so exciting to plan my dads, even if he only gave 4 weeks notice.

My dad would've been happy with a back yard shin-dig. But when I worked and priced it all up it was going to cost just as much.  In fact, when you add all the people volunteering and running around cooking from home etc... It was easier just go out.... And that's what we (my dad) did!!!

He gave me the Guest List and the Date and I took it from there...

My dad has done this before so he didn't want a big show of it all... So the best thing to do was find a restaurant with its own private room...

I started and ended at Villa Roma in Fremantle.  Tucked away at the beautiful vintage end of High Street in Fremantle and sitting just in front of the Fremantle Round House, this gorgeous little piece of Italy was just what I wanted.

The food was just cooked to perfection. And I have to mention the penne that was served from the biggest Parmesan cheese wheel I have ever seen.

There were a few hiccups along the way, but nothing I couldn't handle. In all. It was a wonderful day and loads of fun planning, styling and coordinating the wedding.

Have a look a these pics... Enjoy!!!

Time to get planning

So this weekend will begin the process of my first-ever "South-West" wedding.

This is exciting for me as I'm very much a "promote-WA" kind of girl.

I'll get to spend the next two days chatting with my awesome clients, Tony & Ione, who I had the great honour of planning, styling & coordinating their engagement.

It's time to organise their vintage Bling Wedding and I cannot wait to get started.

Stay tuned... I will keep you posted

Breakfast at Tiffanys

This was an amazing day...

It started at 3am : wake up roll out of bed and pack the car

3:30am leave for Burswood on Swan with my 2IC Cristina

4am: arrive at Burswood On Swan and the first thing I do is HAVE A COFFEE,.... Thanks Linzi

Let the set up being!

While having plenty and coffee and sugary sweets to keep the three of us going, we started out setting the tables centrepieces.... The beautiful craftsmanship of Cristina was just spectacular.. She was given a picture by our Tiffanys Bride - Esther and Cris managed to give Esther what she desired...

The centrepieces along with adorned pearls and candles just have the whole room a fresh morning feel. The venue with the candle-lite isle and spread over with diamontes was just stunning - if I do say so myself..

From the draping and chandeliers to the foyer and cherry blossom trees, the whole morning just rang smooth. It was PERFECT!

When Esther approached me asking to plan her wedding, I don't think she expected what she got... Esther and Steve gave me their budget and I ran with it. All Esther wanted was the theme "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Because it being August, E & S didn't want to risk an outdoor ceremony - and good thing too. Even though it didn't rain that week the ground was too soft and our guests would've been losing their shoes in the grass.  They also didn't want a different ceremony venue.

So I styled their whole day at the one place.

Ceremony isle was cut down the middle of the reception centre, with guests seated at their seats and parents at the bridal table..

The amazing Crooner, Michael Battersby, serenaded the guests through the ceremony and during the meal time... When it came to their first dance, he sang Unchained Melody to perfection... After the DJ got involved and the guests got to dance the morning away.

Everything was just so much fun to style.  E&S trusted me to do what I needed to make sure their day ran perfectly. From styling to rehearsal coordination to on the day coordination.  It was amazing!

At the end of the day, when taking an outdoor group photo, I got to sit back and watch the bridal clue and their families laugh and enjoy the day - Perfect!

Welcome to Blog

So its finally happened....

I've entered the amazing world of BLOG!!! And I'm told it's an amazing way for me to let you all know how each engagement, wedding or corporate event unfolds...

So after over 10 years of planning weddings, birthday parties and all sorts of major events, it's time to start with my latest wedding.

Emily and Matt!

This was a partial plan for me... All they wanted me to do was come in a couple of months out and finalise all their details... After having a few minor hiccups along the way Emily just need me to come and save her from Wedding Planning melt down -and Yes, it happens to all of us....

The day though was amazing and Perfect in every way....

The Bride looked absolutely stunning, and with her bridesmaids in their gorgeous Red dresses and beautiful roses... it was just perfect...

I helped EMILY get herself from falling apart to taking all the pressure off her and planning the last minute decorations and centre pieces.  I planned their rehearsal and made sure their day ran smoothly...

I also created their centre pieces which were beautifully smelling raspberry jelly beans.  They used these as their guests Favours...

I made sure that the venue was beautifully decorated...

Check out the photos.... I hope you like
